Youth: Coping with grief
Some events can turn your life upside-down. When you lose someone or something important to you, it can feel as if your world has come crashing down, and nothing will ever be the same again. It can be difficult to move on with your life. But how do you do that? And how do you move on without forgetting the person or thing you lost? This module can help young people process grief.

This module has been developed for young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who need help processing a loss.
What’s the content of this module?
This module focuses on young people who are experiencing grief and would like to process a loss. The young people can read about the stages of processing an intense event or loss and other psychoeducation about grief. The young participant can get started with practical exercises that support the grieving process. Videos by experts help to acknowledge and process the loss. A journal has also been added in which young people can record the state of their emotions.
How can this module be used?
This module is ‘mobile first’ and can be completed entirely in the app or on a desktop. The module can be used by general basic mental health care practitioners and assistant practitioners, either with or without feedback from an aid worker. If you choose to use the module without additional guidance, the submission moments will automatically serve as moments for reflection. Dealing with certain issues online will offer more time for in-depth discussion during face-to-face sessions.
