Minddistrict has been developing an ehealth platform for digitally supported healthcare for over 15 years. Starting in October, Jeremy Dähn will lead the expansion and digitalisation of healthcare in German-speaking countries as Managing Director. ‘I know the challenges faced by healthcare providers and the opportunities that healthcare technology providers have to offer - I am very much looking forward to bringing the two together.’

Experience and vision
Jeremy Dähn previously worked as Chief Digital Officer at Johanniter GmbH. Here he was responsible for strategic cooperation with industry partners such as Roche Diagnostics and start-ups such as iATROS and Caspar Health, which aim to set up new and innovative care models. Highlights of his work include establishing a telemonitoring solution for oncological patients during chemotherapy with decentralised blood sampling in participating pharmacies. He also founded DT – Deutsche Telemedizin in the field of telecardiology in his role at Johanniter, where he gained experience as Managing Director. Prior to this, he held a management position at Curalie, the digital arm of Helios / Fresenius.
‘He definitely has the right knowledge and experience,’ says Jeanette Ploeger, CEO of Minddistrict. ‘But more importantly: Jeremy can envision how digitalisation can transform healthcare.’
'The Minddistrict product can really make a difference in Germany. But to fit it into the healthcare framework, find business opportunities and decide which opportunities are the best next steps, you don't just need a good product. You will need that vision. I'm confident Jeremy will lead us there.’
Supporting healthcare digitally
‘My passion is to shape the healthcare sector in the DACH region to a more digital and inclusive one which has a special focus on chronically ill patients with an unmet need,’ says Dähn. ‘I believe that the development and implementation of business models for digital products have immense potential.’
Dähn has known Minddistrict since 2019: ‘Back then, I already found the platform's great performance extremely exciting. Mental health is an important social problem, as we are struggling with a demand for healthcare that we cannot provide for in this country. But I also see great opportunities in telemedicine and telemonitoring for the management of chronic diseases in the DACH healthcare system. We can fill important gaps in the German market. I feel incredibly fortunate to be joining Minddistrict at such a pivotal time.’
Insights from our neighbours
Originally from the Netherlands, Minddistrict has been active on the German-speaking market for several years. There is much to learn from the strength of healthcare technology in the Netherlands, says Dähn. ‘But we need to adapt the Minddistrict platform for the German market, so that it fits the local needs of providers, clinics and HCPs.’ He will spend the first few weeks collecting data, getting to know people and understanding where Minddistrict stands in the German market. ‘Then we can work together to see where the journey takes us.’
Looking to the future
Dähn will not be bored in the coming years. Among other things, he believes there is a particular need to relieve the burden on specialist staff and provide effective aftercare following inpatient treatment. ‘Two exciting projects stand out: our own DiGA*, with Asklepios as a strong partner. And Mind-RENA rehabilitation aftercare, a project that doesn't yet exist in Germany. Both highly innovative and with great potential.’
According to Jeremy Dähn, the outlook for the future is exciting. ‘Compared to our neighbouring countries, Germany is lagging behind in terms of digitalisation. But this is precisely where Minddistrict has the opportunity to help turn this market around and move forward.’
Fortunately, he doesn't have to do it alone, Dähn laughs. ‘I was immediately won over by the team behind Minddistrict. The expertise and warm manner that I encountered made a positive impression on me.’
