Contact MinddistrictWho is the module for?
The module ‘Examining your thoughts’ is developed for adults who struggle with unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviour. The goal of the module is for clients to gain insight into their thoughts and understand how thoughts influence feelings and behaviour. Clients also learn how to challenge their thoughts and think in a more helpful way.
What is the content of ‘Examining your thoughts’?
The module focuses on gaining insight into one's thoughts and learning how to challenge unhelpful thoughts. In this module a combination of psychoeducation on cognitive behavioural therapy, videos of experts and experience experts, and thought schemes are provided. Clients examine their own thoughts, practise challenging them and formulate new, more helpful thoughts. This process helps individuals gain more control over their thoughts, and consequently, their feelings and behaviour.
Diary ‘Challenge your thoughts’
Upon completing the module, the ‘Challenge your thoughts’ diary is automatically activated. This allows individuals to continue practising filling out thought schemes.
How do you use the module?
The module consists of 3 chapters, 2 milestones, and 1 submission moment. The diary ‘Challenge your thoughts’ is automatically activated throughout the module. A part of this module is dedicated to common thinking styles.
The module can be used in various contexts, such as in basic or specialised mental health care. Therapists can choose to assign the module with or without providing feedback. Regardless, it is important to designate space in face-to-face sessions to discuss any difficulties or questions the client may have regarding the topics covered in the module. The module is specifically designed for use on mobile phones through the Minddistrict app, but it can also be accessed on a (desktop) computer.
What is the module based on?
The module ‘Examining your thoughts’ was developed by Minddistrict. The content of the module was created through an extensive development process and is based on relevant literature as well as the knowledge and experience of therapists and clients.
