Therapists can use the module with adults who struggle with worrying thoughts. The goal of the module is to provide tools to manage worrying and help reduce symptoms of excessive worrying.
What is the content of 'Worry less'?
This module focuses on helping clients to reduce their worrying. Clients are provided with psychoeducation and videos of experience experts. They also practise noting down their own worrying thoughts. The ‘Moments of worry’ diary helps clients keep track of their worrying thoughts and the situations in which they occur. A number of different exercises are offered to deal with worrying thoughts: designated time to worry, a thought scheme with helpful thoughts and the ‘white bear’ exercise. Clients can also practise relaxation using audio clips, including breathing and muscle relaxation exercises. By the end of the module, clients will have developed practical skills to reduce their worrying.
Moments of Worry diary
As clients go through the module, the "Moments of Worry" diary is automatically activated. In this diary clients can track their worrying thoughts and the situations in which they arise. They can also note what helped to reduce the worry at that moment. The diary can be completed at any time of day via the app or on a laptop or computer.
